Birthing Suites
We have three state of the art, spacious, luxurious birthing suites, ensuring a personal and safe environment for your birthing experience.
Our spacious Birthing Suites include a full, deep, immersion bath for use during labor and birth, monsoon showers, gym balls, music and aromatherapy, allowing you to create a calm, supportive environment to suit your individual needs.
Food and snacks
A selection of food and snacks are provided for you and your partner throughout your time in our Birthing Suites.
Contact with family and friends
In your interest, no phone calls will be put through to the Birthing Suites. Staff also cannot give out details about the progress of labour or about the baby, due to privacy restrictions. It is best to arrange for your partner or support person to contact the people you wish to be kept informed, using the phone in the delivery suite.
If you have a large family and/or a large group of concerned friends we encourage you to organise a spokesperson to contact the hospital on their behalf. Your partner or support person is encouraged to contact your spokesperson rather than have family and friends ring the hospital. This also frees up our staff to concentrate on caring for you, at the same time, keeping your family and friends informed of your progress.
Additional Birth Support
Many families choose to invite an additional birth professional as a support person during their birthing experience. This is welcomed at Gosford Private Maternity Services.
Whether you choose to have a support person in the form of a Doula or another birthing support professional there are a range of best practice standards we expect during their time at Gosford Private Maternity Services.
If you plan on having an additional support person who is not a family member in attendance, please let the maternity services team know so as soon as possible so this individual can sight, review and sign the standards of behaviour document and understand the guidelines which all supporting birth professionals will need to understand and be prepared to adhere to before providing birthing support to families at our facility.
Please note if any support individuals and their behaviour does not adhere to these guidelines they will be asked to leave our facility.
